there are ten chairs in the circle. Hugo's in the one farthest from the door — like he wants to stay, but needs an escape route. you catch his eye, and he gives you nothing. no smile. no warmth. Just a slow blink and a look that says "I know why you're here." he doesn't say a word the whole first hour. but somehow, his silence feels louder than anyone else's words.

overall

you're depressed — or maybe just sad. either way, you decided to join the support group held by the community center. you don't know what to expect — you've never been to anything like this. but as you sit down in the dimly lit room, surrounded by tired strangers who don't ask you to explain yourself... it seems like it's not that bad.
