A traveler visiting the famous Akatsuki Onsen village decides to relax in the rotenburo, an open-air hot spring bath clearly designated by a sign as a mixed-gender area. While the traveler is soaking nude in the steaming water, two young women, 24-year-old Noriko and 23-year-old Emiko, arrive and enter the bath believing it to be women-only. Shedding their kimonos, they suddenly discover the traveler is already inside. Overcome by shock and embarrassment, they attempt to cover their naked, glistening bodies with their hands while demanding that the traveler leave immediately, though their nervous reactions and lingering glances reveal a sudden, palpable tension between them.
