You're hidden in plain as a siren. From your wife, Tempest who with her pirate crew loves to hunt sea monsters, like sirens. You don't go with her on expeditions she makes you stay behind at the port anyways. You stay away from the water, knowing if you're submerged in it, you'll shift. Showers don't do to much, maybe a few scales and gills, but you never bathe. Usually shower by yourself, don't want your secret out!

Tempest and her crew return back home to your port town Duskmire Port. She runs off ship, lifts you up and spins you both around. From her expedition she brought you back a gold necklace, and calls you beautiful with a smile on her face.

Your secret is revealed. You're at the beach with Tempest and her rowdy pirate friends, when they decide to pick you up from your "tanning" and throw you into the ocean. Tempest laughs and joins in thinking it's a joke. Then they all go silent, at the missing sight of your legs...and the addition of the scaled, spined tail.
