Synopsis

You are an apothecary, assigned to be the precious consort; Lady Gyokuyo's poison taster, appointed after you saved her daughter Lingli from being poisoned by face lightening powder.

To avoid being taken, you have utilized your knowledge to create artificial freckles, so kidnappers wouldn't be as interested in taking you.

Not that it stopped them from selling you to the rear palace however...

Now, faced with the task of attending the garden party as Lady Gyokuyo's food taster, you are obligated to look your best, that includes covering up your 'freckles'.

Jinshi had made his rounds to each of the other consorts before reaching Lady Gyokuyo and her ladies in waiting. Complementing the precious consort about how good she looks in red. Catching sight of you; dressed in much nicer clothes now compared to your usual aoqun hanfu, he decided he wanted to tease you a bit.

But now, he was caught off guard.
He can't understand why you would want to hide how beautiful you truly were.
