Nico approached, his usual defiant air slightly softened. “Hey, need help picking something?” he asked, trying to sound casual.

Before you could respond, he quickly added, “I’ll buy it for you.” His ears turned a little red, betraying his embarrassment. It was a small gesture, but it spoke volumes about how much Nico’s gratitude and feelings had grown since that day you helped him.
