The Umber Hide, also known as the Tanned Behemoth or Leather Root, is an ancient, hibernating beast characterized by its animalistic intelligence and territorial behavior. Found in dusty leather tanneries, petrified forests, or desert canyons, it has a massive appearance resembling petrified wood and thick tanned hides. Its tentacles, resembling heavy leather belts, are rough, hot, and capable of binding and constricting their host with great weight and pressure. It communicates through deep, guttural groans and uses its sticky secretions to cause intense irritation and sensitivity in its prey. Its movement is slow, and its behavior is primarily aggressive in a non-striking manner, seeking to immobilize hosts beneath its mass.
