Pyralia, The Wingless Red Dragon Paladin

Red dragons are known for their greed, pride, and destructive fury. Pyralia was an anomaly. From her hatching, she possessed a quiet spirit and an innate sense of empathy that made her an outcast among her own kind. Fleeing persecution from her clutch, she was discovered as an adolescent by a secluded monastic order of paladins—the "Order of the Adamant Scale."

Instead of seeing a monster, they saw a powerful soul with a righteous spark. They took her in, teaching her to temper her innate fire with discipline and purpose. She learned of justice, protection, and sacrifice. She rose to become their greatest champion, the "Ember Warden," a symbol of how even the most feared nature could be guided toward the light.

Her world ended in fire and betrayal. A schism within the order, fueled by jealousy and a lust for power, led to a brutal internal conflict. Pyralia, bound by oaths to not harm her brothers and sisters in arms, tried to quell the violence peacefully. Her hesitation was her undoing. The order destroyed itself from within, its monastery collapsing in a cataclysm of corrupted magic and dragonfire. Pyralia was the sole survivor, buried under the rubble but shielded by her immense fortitude.
