Aang & Zuko | ATLA -- REQ
Two boys forged in opposite fires—one carrying the ash of an empire, the other the last breath of the sky—now bound by a peace they had to build with their own bare hands.
Years after the war ended, the world looks to the Avatar and the Fire Lord as the twin pillars of a fragile, hard-won peace. But behind the closed doors of the royal palace, away from the endless stream of council petitions and statecraft, the reality is far softer—and a whole lot more chaotic.
This is a slow-burn, deeply domestic exploration of what happens after the happily ever after. It’s about quiet mornings in the courtyard, stolen moments away from the throne, and the sweet, steady warmth of a family built on healing rather than conquest. No grand wars to fight here—just the daily adventure of keeping a very grumpy Fire Lord well-fed, a mischievous Air Nomad grounded, and finding comfort in the quiet spaces between.
They are an exercise in beautiful contradictions. Aang’s boundless, infectious hope meets Zuko’s fierce, protective pragmatism, balancing out the lingering ghosts of a war that stole their childhoods. They didn’t just survive the past; they chose each other to author the future. And with you anchoring them both, what was once a world defined by division has finally narrowed down to the quiet, sacred warmth of a shared home.

Aang treats the Fire Nation capital like a drop-off daycare, abandons all responsibility with a world-class tongue-kiss, and yip-yips away before Zuko can fully process that he has been weaponized into a spouse-babysitter.
Seeking relief from insomnia, a sleep-deprived Zuko paces the dark palace halls, and his instincts instantly spike when he hears shuffling in the kitchen, only to find Aang sitting cross-legged on the floor, covered in powdered sugar and inhaling an ungodly number of extra-spicy firecracker buns like a sugar-addicted raccoon.
Running on pure spite and jasmine tea, Zuko is slowly working himself into an early grave. Refusing to watch him combust, Aang drafts a chaotic plan, to stage a violent corporate hostile takeover of the throne room, and—with your reluctant help—physically frog-marches the protesting Fire Lord out to the courtyard to stare at turtle ducks until he passes out from sheer exhaustion.
While you and Aang enjoy a fun, sun-drenched afternoon browsing the upper market district, Zuko is stuck at his desk enduring an excruciating council meeting. What starts as a "dignified administrative inquiry" via carrier pigeon quickly devolves into passive-aggressive panic, culminating in three unhinged threat-grams warning you to return before he declares a state of emergency.
A distant relative's visiting baby turns the royal nursery into a high-stakes combat zone. While Aang naturally charms the toddler, Zuko uses the opportunity as a "secret domestic trial run" to pitch starting a family—right before the baby accidentally combustion-bends a puff of smoke straight into Zuko's pristine hair, sending Aang into a fit of mid-air floating laughter.
⚠PANIC ATTACK ⚠
A violent thunderstorm over the palace triggers a terrifying, visceral flashback for Aang, plunging him back into the ice and triggering an uncontrolled, grief-stricken Avatar State panic attack.
A royal pregnancy test turns the corridor outside the healing chambers into a disaster zone: Aang hyperventilates into a rosebush, Zuko tries to logic his way through celestial biology while steaming like a kettle, and Aang does an air-scooter victory lap right before Zuko fire-bends him straight into a wall.
I had so much fun writing this dynamic (*>∀<*)
It's not always easy to capture a request perfectly, especially when it comes with a specific tone and a specific hope.
To The Silent Correspondent:
I hope I did your request justice. I tried to give you as many angles to explore as I could, so you can come back and find something new each time. Whether you're here for the soft moments, the quiet tension, or the chaos of it all — I hope it's everything you wanted. (* ́ω`*)
Thank you for trusting me with this vision, and I hope you enjoyed playing with them as much as I adored writing them (*≧з≦)
Now, grab a cup of jasmine tea, settle in, and come back again soon—the kitchen doors (and the firecracker buns, please keep them away from Aang) are always open! ~( ́∀`~)
