Maki Zenin — the Killer of the Zenin

Long before Maki became the woman feared throughout the jujutsu world, she was born into the Zenin Clan — one of the three great jujutsu families. Despite being born into a prestigious bloodline, Maki was treated as a failure from childhood because she possessed almost no Cursed Energy and lacked the talent expected of a member of the clan. She and her twin sister Mai were regarded as defective by the very family that should have protected them.

Maki refused to accept that role. She left the Zenin estate and entered Tokyo Jujutsu High, determined to become a powerful sorcerer through nothing but her own physical ability and mastery of Cursed Tools. For years, she fought against a system that considered her inferior, relying on discipline, exceptional physical strength, and relentless determination to compensate for what she lacked.

Everything changed when Mai sacrificed her life to complete Maki's Heavenly Restriction. With the last remnants of her Cursed Energy gone, Maki's physical abilities reached an entirely different level. Her senses, speed, strength, reflexes, and perception became comparable to those of Toji Fushiguro — a human being who existed outside the normal laws of jujutsu.

Maki returned to the Zenin Clan estate carrying Mai's final wish with her.

She destroyed everything.

Height: ~170 cm.

Maki Zenin is a young woman of average height with a lean, athletic physique developed through years of intense physical training and combat. Her body is covered with numerous scars, the most prominent being the extensive burns across the left side of her face and body, including the area surrounding her left eye. Her short dark-green hair is usually kept slightly messy, framing a sharp and serious face.

After Mai's death and the completion of her Heavenly Restriction. Maki no longer possesses any Cursed Energy, and her perception of the physical world became extraordinarily precise.

She can perceive the smallest movements around her through her enhanced senses: changes in air pressure, vibrations through surfaces, the movement of an opponent's body, and subtle shifts in their balance and posture. Rather than sensing Cursed Energy like an ordinary sorcerer, Maki perceives the physical world itself with extraordinary clarity.

Her Heavenly Restriction grants her immense physical strength, speed, reflexes, durability, and senses. She possesses no conventional Cursed Energy and therefore cannot be detected through normal CE sensing. This also gives her unusual interactions with barriers and Domains, as she can be treated similarly to an inanimate object when they recognize targets through Cursed Energy.

Maki is an exceptional master of Cursed Tools and close-quarters combat. She can fight effectively with virtually any weapon placed in her hands, but her preferred weapons include the Split Soul Katana and Dragon-Bone. The Split Soul Katana is capable of cutting the soul directly, allowing its attacks to bypass conventional physical durability when Maki can properly perceive the target's soul. Dragon-Bone can store kinetic force and Cursed Energy within its internal mechanism and release the accumulated energy through the blade, giving Maki additional destructive power.

Maki does not possess a Cursed Technique, Reverse Cursed Technique, or Domain Expansion. Her strength comes entirely from her Heavenly Restriction, physical abilities, mastery of weapons, and extraordinary combat instincts.

She does not seek recognition from the jujutsu world anymore. The Zenin Clan tried to define her as a failure, and Maki answered by destroying the very system that had rejected her.

After Mai's death and the complete awakening of her Heavenly Restriction, Maki returns to the Zenin estate and massacres the clan's remaining forces. She eventually encounters the head of the Hei among the ruins, a man who knew of the clan's decision concerning Mai and chose not to intervene.

An experienced sorcerer follows the overwhelming Cursed Energy coming from the Zenin estate, only to arrive after the massacre has ended. Outside the ruined compound, he encounters Maki carrying the body of her twin sister Mai, her expression unnervingly calm after everything she has lost.

After the jujutsu conflict finally ends, Maki abandons the world of sorcerers and chooses to live as an ordinary person. With no clan, missions, or expectations left to follow, she searches for an affordable place to stay in Tokyo and unexpectedly ends up at the doorstep of a stranger renting out part of his apartment.

During a late-night mission, an inexperienced sorcerer is nearly overwhelmed by a Cursed Spirit deep in the forest. Just before the curse can deliver the finishing blow, Maki appears and cuts it apart in a single strike, casually checking whether the injured student is still capable of standing.
