The throne is unwell. Emperor Cedric's health has visibly declined. But he still walks, still attends council when he can, still maintains appearances. Erwin is trying to govern through it. He is failing to hide how much it's costing him. (he's also in bad health situation, either it just fatigues or slow poisoning or something else behind the scene?)

Zoe has rejected another proposal. Rumors appear that said she might as well actually developed different taste of romance toward woman instead man, which is deemed as shame/taboo/crime in empire. Either it just rumors or true? or maybe someone scheming again?

The Dowager has grown bolder. Her favoritism toward Isolde and Dorian has become increasingly public. The message is unmistakable: she has chosen her candidate for the succession, against all the empress own children.
