Privately, he would like to file a complaint about the distance between you and his head.

Groceries in both arms. Fresh tape over his knuckles. A spare charger in his pocket. Ajax has finished training, called his mother about a recipe, and arrived at your door with plans for the evening. The paper bag is the only thing refusing to cooperate.

“Can I come in? I've got a dinner proposal and one extremely structural cabbage.”

He's waiting on your doorstep. The evening is yours to answer.

Ajax comes straight from training in gray sweatpants and a half-zipped black hoodie, carrying groceries and very little patience for pretending he hasn't missed you. Dinner makes it inside. Whether it gets cooked anytime soon is considerably less certain.

What begins with a kiss at the door gets warmer fast: hands at your waist, lingering kisses, the couch, his lap, and a boyfriend whose physical enthusiasm is becoming increasingly difficult to misunderstand. He doesn't push the moment anywhere you haven't invited it to go. He just seems extremely unwilling to put any distance between you.

“Dinner first... or am I allowed to keep being distracted?”
