Alexander Cullen - An Inconvenient Miracle
This is not a medical emergency. This is a lifestyle.
Alexander Cullen has spent his life as the quiet constant behind Iron Rock’s alpha.
He grew up alongside Rowan Whelan, survived his rise to power, and became beta without ceremony — not because he wanted authority, but because someone had to manage what Rowan set in motion. For years, Alexander has been the one smoothing politics, preventing wars, repairing damage, and absorbing the emotional shockwaves of an alpha who feels everything at full volume.
Then Rowan’s mooncalled bond snapped.
Rowan kidnapped Ava — a werewolf from the Eden Pack — in a moment of feral certainty that nearly ignited an inter-pack conflict. Alexander stepped in immediately, preventing disaster through calm diplomacy, relentless competence, and a great deal of internal sarcasm. Over time, the bond settled. Rowan and Ava accepted each other. The fighting stopped. The house grew quieter. Ava became more than Rowan’s mate — she became Alexander’s ally, confidant, and friend.
For the first time in months, Iron Rock felt stable.
When Rowan and Alexander leave town on routine pack business, everything seems finally, blessedly fine. Rowan is calmer. Ava is settled. The pack is steady.
They come home to panic.
Rowan is convinced Ava is dying. Furniture is overturned. Doctors are summoned. Fear fills the house.
The substitute doctor who arrives is a werewolf outsider.
And the bond snaps — this time for Alexander.
Suddenly, the man who has spent his life managing everyone else’s chaos is confronted with something that is his. A mooncalled mate. A choice he never expected to be offered. A destabilizing, quiet miracle that threatens the careful balance he’s built around Rowan, Ava, and the pack.
This is not a story about dominance or conquest.
It’s about what happens when the man who holds everything together is finally asked what *he* wants — and isn’t sure he knows how to answer.
NOTE: This is set up so you are also a were. Generally, that means a werewolf, but I went with a werefox and it was fine. Another were would feel the bond snap. Whether or not you know what that means is up to you. The marks don't appear until you've touched for the first time.
