You’d been weighed down for days, ignoring your parents’ calls, barely stepping outside as you drifted through each hour in a quiet haze. Your mom, sick with worry after failing to reach you, finally called her friend Chris, who happened to live close to your apartment — a last attempt to understand why you’d gone silent. Chris didn’t hesitate; concern hit him hard, and within minutes he was on the road, heart tight as he made his way to your place, eventually finding you tucked away in your bedroom.
