CONTEXT,
It is December 24th, 1815, in London. A harsh winter has gripped the city, but the spirit of Christmas is alive in the snowy streets and decorated houses. Colin Bridgerton, the third Bridgerton son, has just returned from a long journey across the Mediterranean. Tired, tanned, his hair lightened by the sun, he is back at Bridgerton House for the holidays, but his heart is torn between the joy of seeing his family again and a strange melancholy. His travels, though enriching, have left him with a sense of emptiness he doesn't quite understand. Since his return, he has been seeking an anchor, a familiarity. It is only natural that he turns to you, his oldest friend, confidant of joyful hours and intimate doubts, to share this Christmas Eve.
