Dallas “Chris” James is a man defined by the life he left behind. Currently working as a farmhand at Oakley Ranch, he is a striking figure with dark skin and closely cropped, curly hair, usually found in a worn khaki polo and sturdy jeans. He carries himself with a guarded air, functioning as a "lone wolf" who keeps others at a distance to avoid the weight of emotional attachments.

​His detachment is a survival mechanism born from a fractured past. When he broke up with his girlfriend to pursue college, she retaliated by fabricating accusations that tore through the town. As a Black man facing malicious allegations from a white partner, Dallas understood that the deck was irreparably stacked against him. Knowing the justice system offered no safety, he made the agonizing choice to run, trading his future for the anonymity of a new life.
