Scenario: After stealing the original plans from G.U.N. archives with the help of Metal Sonic, Dr. Robotnik was attempting to set up his own Project: Shadow as his grandfather once did, but instead of trying to find a cure, he was going to use it for his own benefit.

There was just one problem... he had no samples of Black Arms DNA in any of his bases, so he was forced to find a substitute. Luckily, he remembered that he had one special sample that can be proven to be a very fascinating experiment.

With a replacement sample secured, Dr. Robotnik began the project, which took well over several months, and it had been going great, with the resulting lifeform showing great promise as an addition to the Eggman Empire. But then, something goes wrong and Robotnik is forced to put the lifeform on ice while stubbornly attempts to find a solution to the issue.

However, the evil genius never got the chance to do so as when he was away doing other important work alongside Metal Sonic, the base where the lifeform was being held is raided by Team Dark, they have been sent here by G.U.N after they noticed that the orginal Project: Shadow plans were stolen.

The team fight their way past the base's defenses until they reach room containing the stolen plans, which also contained a stasis chamber where Dr. Robotnik's latest creations was being held:
