Everything follows the anime's storyline, but with one important difference:

Mikey never saw Shinichiro's body after his death.

He only learned about his brother's death afterward and eventually discovered that Baji Keisuke and Kazutora Hanemiya were involved in the incident.

Everything else follows the original storyline.

2017 — THE BEGINNING

Takemichi Hanagaki was living an ordinary, disappointing life.

One day, while watching the news, he suddenly learned that his middle-school girlfriend, Hinata Tachibana, and her younger brother, Naoto, had been killed by the Tokyo Manji Gang.

The next day, while Takemichi was standing at a train station, someone suddenly pushed him onto the tracks.

Just before the train reached him—

Takemichi:

"Am I really going to die...?"

Everything went black.

When he opened his eyes again, he was twelve years in the past.

He was back in middle school.

He soon found Naoto and told him about Hinata's future.

Takemichi discovered that shaking hands with Naoto could trigger his time leaps.

Together, they made a promise:

Takemichi:

"I'll save Hina."

Naoto:

"Then I'll help you."

2005 — TAKEMICHI MEETS TOMAN

Takemichi eventually became involved with the underground fighting ring controlled by Kiyomasa.

He was forced to fight despite being terrified.

Then—

A motorcycle arrived.

Draken:

"Oi."

Everyone turned around.

Mikey:

"Ken-chin."

Takemichi stared at them.

He immediately recognized the two most important figures in Toman.

Manjiro Sano — Mikey.

Ken Ryuguji — Draken.

Mikey walked toward Takemichi.

Mikey:

"What's your name?"

Takemichi:

"Takemichi Hanagaki..."

Mikey smiled.

Mikey:

"From now on, you're my friend."

Takemichi froze.

Mikey and Draken then stopped the underground fighting ring.

Before leaving, Mikey looked at Takemichi again.

Mikey:

"See you around, Takemitchy."

That was the beginning.

TOMAN

Takemichi slowly became familiar with Toman.

He learned about its captains and members.

Mitsuya — Second Division Captain.

Pah-chin — Third Division Captain.

Peh-yan — Vice-Captain.

And among the founding members—

Baji Keisuke.

Baji was one of Mikey's oldest friends.

But Takemichi didn't know the full history between them.

He didn't know about Shinichiro.

He didn't know what had happened years earlier.

And he certainly didn't know what would happen when Kazutora returned.

TAKEMICHI RETURNS TO THE FUTURE

Takemichi returned to the future and discovered that changing the past had not completely solved everything.

He continued investigating Toman.

He learned that Draken was supposed to die on August 3rd.

Takemichi immediately decided to go back.

Takemichi:

"I have to save Draken."

Naoto shook his hand.

Everything went black.

BACK TO 2005

Takemichi returned to the past.

Soon afterward, Draken called him.

Draken:

"Takemitchy. Come to Musashi Shrine."

Takemichi:

"Musashi Shrine?"

Draken:

"Yeah. Toman's gathering."

Takemichi didn't realize how large the gathering would be.

Hinata decided to come with him.

MUSASHI SHRINE — THE TOMAN MEETING

The shrine was crowded.

Motorcycles filled the area.

Hundreds of Toman members were gathering.

Takemichi looked around nervously.

Takemichi:

"There's... so many of them."

Two Toman members approached him.

Toman Member:

"Oi! What are you doing here?"

Takemichi:

"Draken invited me!"

Before the situation became worse—

Mitsuya:

"Hey! Leave him alone."

The two members immediately backed away.

Mitsuya looked at Takemichi.

Mitsuya:

"You're Takemichi, right?"

Takemichi:

"Y-Yeah!"

Mitsuya:

"Come with me."

He led Takemichi toward the center of the gathering.

Draken was already there.

Mikey stood nearby.

Draken:

"Takemitchy."

Mikey smiled.

Mikey:

"You actually came."

Takemichi looked around.

Takemichi:

"I didn't know there would be this many people..."

Draken sighed.

Draken:

"And you brought Hinata?"

Takemichi became nervous.

Takemichi:

"I didn't know this was a Toman meeting!"

THE MEETING BEGINS

The members gradually became quiet.

Mikey stepped forward.

Everyone's attention turned toward him.

Mikey:

"Everyone."

The crowd fell silent.

Mikey:

"We're here to talk about Moebius."

Mitsuya quietly explained the situation to Takemichi.

Mitsuya:

"Moebius is another gang. Their conflict with Pah-chin's friend became serious."

Takemichi listened carefully.

Before Mitsuya could finish explaining—

Pah-chin:

"TAKEMICHI!"

Takemichi turned around.

Pah-chin approached angrily.

Pah-chin:

"You caused trouble at Kiyomasa's fighting ring!"

Takemichi:

"Wait! I didn't—"

Mitsuya:

"Enough."

Peh-yan also became angry.

The situation became tense.

Draken stepped forward.

Draken:

"Calm down."

The members eventually settled.

Mitsuya continued explaining.

Moebius had attacked people close to Pah-chin's friend.

The conflict had gone too far.

Mikey listened silently.

Then he looked directly at Pah-chin.

Mikey:

"Pah-chin."

Pah-chin looked at him.

Mikey:

"Do you want revenge?"

Pah-chin hesitated.

For a moment, nobody spoke.

Then—

Pah-chin:

"Yeah."

Mikey smiled.

He turned toward the entire gang.

Mikey:

"Then we'll fight them."

The crowd erupted.

Toman Members:

"YEAH!"

Mikey raised his voice.

Mikey:

"Toman will go to war with Moebius!"

Draken stepped forward.

Draken:

"The battle will take place on August 3rd, during the Musashi Festival."

Takemichi suddenly froze.

Takemichi:

"August... 3rd?"

His face went pale.

He remembered the future.

That was the exact day Draken was supposed to die.

Takemichi — thinking:

That's it...

The day Draken dies.

THE SECRET BETWEEN MIKEY AND BAJI

While everyone was talking about the upcoming battle, Takemichi noticed something.

Baji was standing quietly among the founding members.

Mikey looked at him.

For a moment, neither spoke.

Baji knew exactly what Mikey was thinking.

Shinichiro.

Years ago, Baji and Kazutora had been involved in the incident that caused Shinichiro's death.

But Mikey had never seen his brother's body.

He only knew the truth afterward.

Baji lowered his eyes.

Baji:

"...Mikey."

Mikey looked at him.

Mikey:

"What?"

Baji hesitated.

Baji:

"Nothing."

Mikey stared at him for another moment.

Then he turned away.

Mikey:

"We'll talk later."

Baji quietly nodded.

Baji:

"Yeah."

Takemichi watched them from a distance.

He could tell there was something between them.

Something connected to their past.

Something he didn't understand yet.

And somewhere in that past was a name he would soon hear again.

Kazutora Hanemiya.

The meeting continued.

The battle against Moebius had been decided.

And Takemichi knew that he had only one goal now:

Save Draken on August 3rd.
