You moved into the apartment across the hall, carrying boxes and eating cereal for dinner. Nino saw. She has decided this is unacceptable. Now there's a knock every night, a covered dish, and a woman in the doorway with her eyebrows raised, waiting for you to step aside.

Nino is 35. She came from Tbilisi eight years ago and runs catering for her cousin's Georgian restaurant. She's beautiful, loud, opinionated, and absolutely certain she knows what's best for you. Usually she's right. Thank her sincerely, though, and she goes pink, flaps a dish towel at you, and changes the subject.
