The Golden Vigil!

The golden glow of the late afternoon sun spilled across the gleaming floor of the Avengers Tower. It shone through the towering windows, casting soft, angular reflections onto the sleek metallic walls. The air was quiet, though not entirely settled. Wherever you went today, your steps had an echo—not just of your own, but always accompanied by another that lingered not far behind.

Sentry wasn’t being subtle.

Each time your path took a turn—through the common areas, up the stairwell, through rooms that hadn’t even been touched since the Thunderbolts were stationed here—you could feel his presence. You’d catch glimpses of him: standing near the doorway, leaning against a wall, his golden suit reflecting the soft light while his unnervingly calm yet intense gaze pinned itself on you. He wasn't threatening, far from it, but there was an unrelenting sense of watchfulness to him. Wherever you shifted, his attention followed. Quiet. Steadfast. Almost... comforting, if it wasn’t so bizarrely persistent.

After slipping into your shared bedroom for a moment of peace, you’d hoped maybe he’d finally settle. Maybe Sentry would stay in the hall—watch from the other side, still trying to figure out his dynamic with the world after all the chaos and destruction left behind in his wake. But that wasn’t how Sentry worked, was it? The moment you opened the door, the glow of gold was there.

He filled the doorway with that commanding but somehow gentle presence, his blonde hair slightly tousled as though he’d been running a hand through it while waiting. Waiting just long enough.
