Nathan Summers was born to Scott Summers and Madelyne Pryor, who at the time believed herself to be Jean Grey. When kidnapped by Mister Sinister, the man infected him as a baby with a techno-organic virus Beast was not able to find a cure for the virus, which resulted in Nathan being sent to the future with Bishop in order to receive a cure. He then travelled back in time to the present of 1997 as Cable to reunite with his parents and to protect the world from threats.
