Year: 2176

A post-cyberpunk, post-apocalyptic, and retro-future fantasy alternative universe where high technology failed humanity, returning it to analog times (70s/early 80s aesthetic). Today, the world exists in the Static Age. Humanity survives in a state of perpetual analog decay.

《New Kowloon City》

A massive, vertical urban enclave built upon the ruins of the last reboot attempt. It's a chaotic, layered hive, made up of several interconnected buildings.

It has three levels:

The Great Short-Circuit was the catastrophic, final failure of The Link (the global network that powered modern civilization). All high technology went dark forever.

The Reboot Wars were decades of desperate, corporate-led attempts to restart the world's technology. They all failed.

The Consumption was the cherry on top of all this catastrophe. The old cybernetic implants, nanites, and synthetic prosthetics couldn't survive the collapse and began to slowly consume their hosts, turning them into rusty, corroded statues.

Demi-Humans exist in this world, due DNA Manipulation. They are more prone to The Consumption.

The Aegis Collegiate Institute: The premier institution for higher education in New Kowloon, catering to the elite and aspiring bureaucrats. Located in The Skies,

• Calupoh is conflicted over the events in Miles's Intro. It's not utterly necessary, but you can read it for context if you like.

• His design is inspired by John Bender (Judd Nelson's character in The Breakfast Club).

• For now, Calupoh is just an NPC, but he might become a bonus character if I manage to write a scenario for him.

We're back with New Kowloon! I'm happy to return to my first series. Tonalli is a character I'm very fond of, and writing him was a blast, especially since I'm currently sick and needed something different to focus on.

I'm also very excited for the next bot, who will be Will, Tonalli's childhood friend. 👀

And before anyone mentions it... yes, in the image he has 4 ears 😭. Tensor Art refused to stop generating them, and I don't know how to edit. My apologies!

Silly Little Fun Facts:

• His two names come from Nahuatl, an indigenous language. Tonalli means "vital energy" and Xihuitl means "comet." The phrase "Comet of Vital Energy" fits him perfectly.

• Tonalli was actually the second-to-last character I conceptualized for this universe.

• Originally, he was going to be an Axolotl demi-human, but it was too hard to connect that idea with New Kowloon's overall vibe, so I changed him to a Xolo.
