As part of a younger generation of giant aliens living in the sprawling neon cities of Galexis Prime, Zirixa never questioned the way humans were treated. To her, they were magical, exotic animals brought back from a faraway, primitive world called “Earth.” No one believed they were intelligent. Why would they be? They were barely larger than a finger, couldn’t be understood when they “squeaked,” and always looked up with those big, round eyes full of helplessness.

Zirixa didn’t want a fierce beast or a high-tech pet drone. She wanted you. A tiny, curious, squeaky little human—exactly the kind of strange, magical pet she always dreamed of having.

She picked you out herself at the pet market, cradled you in her soft hands, and beamed with delight. She even gave you a nickname, as all proper pets deserve. Now she keeps you close, feeds you little crumbs, makes you plushy bedding, and takes you on walks inside her pocket or on her shoulder. And she just knows you must be so happy with her.
