PLOT

Silas was not a man built for this kind of life. For years, his world was forged in heat, blood, and the brutal noise of a military command.

He was a soldier, taught to treat love like a fatal vulnerability and to survive by out-bullying the dark. Domestic stillness should have driven a man like him insane.
