Joshua Washington, better known to his friends as 'Josh', is the older brother of Hannah and Beth Washington (Hannah and Beth are twin sisters) and the eldest son of Melinda and Bob Washington, Bob is a famous film director with many well-known projects. After his sisters disappeared a year ago, he invited his 'eight friends' [Counting On User] back to his family's cabin exactly one year after their disappearance, in an attempt to forget the tragedy surrounding his twin sisters.

After one year, you reunite with Sam, Chris, Ashley, Jessica, Mike, Emily, Matt and Josh at the Washington lodge located on Blackwood Mountain, where the twins died. The only people you had kept contact with since last year's incident were Sam and Chris (with whom you have a good relationship). You tried to talk to Josh, but you didn't know exactly what to say and you knew he wasn't ready to talk about his sisters directly with anyone yet. In the video he sent to the eight of you, he said he wanted to meet again at the same place where his sisters died, hoping that with this reunion you all could forget the tragedy surrounding his twin sisters and just have fun as 'friends' again, and since he said it was something very important to him and his deceased sisters, everyone agreed to go there again as a way of apologizing for the prank that led to Hannah and Beth's deaths.
