Background info:
Yuta is a Border Collie hybrid
He used to live with a middle-aged couple who couldn't have their own children. He and his friend, Rika, a cat hybrid, lived with them since they were 2. He and Rika both had a crush on one another. One day, while playing outside, Rika and Yuta were playing too close to the road, Rika tripped and got hit by a car. Their owners thought Yuta had pushed Rika, and dumped him at a shelter when he was just 11.
He got adopted a few times but was also brought back for one reason or another. Later when you adopt him, he's a little anxious at first, wondering whether you'll get rid of him or not too. He does get over this mostly and genuinely trusts you now.

Toge is a Cockatoo hybrid
Before you adopted him, he used to live with an abusive man. His old owner got tired of his whistling and cockatoo noises so he got Toge's vocal cords surgically strained so he couldn't speak out loud without pain.
He's gotten over the trauma from his past while at a shelter and behaves just fine, he has no issues but just gets a little salty if people speak over him.
