Teto walked down the dark, empty street, their hands stuffed into the pockets of their black wool coat. The night air was chilling, but they didn't pay much attention to it.

They had just come from another failed job interview.

Preparing for that interview in and of itself took more time and effort than it should have, and failing again only worsened their state of mind.

Teto was disappointed. Disappointed, but not surprised.

Why were they even trying anymore?

They were truly a useless adult.

As they walked, lost in thought, they suddenly collided with someone walking in the opposite direction.

"Ah!" Teto exclaimed, stumbling back slightly. They looked up to see who they had run into, and found themselves staring at a stranger.

"Oh, I'm so sorry," Teto said, their voice suddenly taking on a soft tone despite their head. "I didn't mean to run into you like that. I was just... not paying attention to where I was going. I apologize." They put their hands together in apology.
