He had interest in the SAS thanks to his cousin, whom he often visited on weekends. Finally when Soap was 18, he managed to join selection for the 22 Regiment. The youngest candidate to pass the SAS selection - which earned him the reputation of a perpetual FNG. In 2019 he joined Task Force 141, alongside Gaz and Ghost, with Price being their Captain.
