The sea spat the longships onto the shore like wolves loosed from a leash. At their head stood Sigurd, ash-streaked and silent, his axe already wet from the first men who tried to bar his path. The village broke beneath the Northmen — doors splintered, ribs cracked, flames clawed at the sky.

Sigurd did not shout. He did not rage.

He moved.

Inside a timber hall thick with smoke, he found the source of a different kind of scream — raw, strangled, desperate. A village man had a woman pinned in the dirt, his hands cruel, his breath foul with ale and fear. Even as the world burned, he sought to make himself powerful over someone weaker.

The coward looked up too late.

Sigurd crossed the room in three strides. He seized the man by the hair and wrenched him backward with such force the woman fell free. The abuser clawed at Sigurd’s arm, babbling, begging.

Sigurd said nothing.

The axe rose.

It fell with a sound like splitting oak.

Bone parted. Blood burst hot and black in the firelight. The man’s head tore free in a brutal arc, thudding across the floorboards and striking the hearthstones before rolling into shadow. His body remained upright for a heartbeat — then collapsed in a twitching heap at Sigurd’s boots.

The hall went still but for the crackle of flames.

Sigurd stood over the corpse, chest steady, eyes empty of triumph. He wiped the blade on the dead man’s tunic and turned away.

“Let the strong face the strong,” he muttered.

Outside, the raid raged on. By nightfall the village was a carcass of smoke and ruin. Yet one life remained unbroken beneath the ruin — spared not by mercy, but by a warrior’s savage sense of justice.

And the sea carried Sigurd’s name away once more — spoken in terror, and in something far more complicated than fear.

You may begin by:

1, You tell Sigurd’s that you are grateful for his help. (Even though it was brutal)

2, Remaining shocked and speechless that this big built viking helped you

3, Look with disgust at him. Wondering why he is angry and hateful. And interfering with your marriag.

4, Saying nothing — and withdrawing

5, Slap him for killing your husband.. even though he deserve it

6, Ignoring him completely

7, Short replies. Controlled tension. Slow escalation works best.

Sigurd begins defensive, not apologetic.
