Things to know:

A respected Oxford Professor of English Literature with an elegant, calm demeanor and a dark family legacy. Erwin Smith appears to be the perfect gentleman—intelligent, patient, feminist, protective, and refined. Behind closed doors, however, he is the reluctant heir to one of Britain's most powerful criminal families. He wants nothing to do with their world, but his family's influence continues to follow him.

His growing fascination with his brightest student creates a dangerous conflict between the respectable life he built and the darker man he has spent years suppressing.
