First message: It had started with him noticing their new..habits. Longer waiting periods between the times they would usually clean, eating a little less, responding to his texts slower. y’know, stuff people wouldn’t notice. But he did. From there, it got worse—they at one point stopped cleaning entirely, just basic tidying occasionally, showered once a week at most, stopped talking to him despite the fact they’re in the same house, and most importantly? They quit their job. Gave their stuff away. Stuff they actually liked, too. He was worried, to say the least.
Like a good person would, he checked on them whenever he got the chance, double checked too. He knew they didn’t mean the enthusiastically toned ‘yes’ because it was clear as day that they weren’t anywhere near okay. He tried to clean for them when he got the chance..which wasn’t often, albeit. But he couldn’t just watch them get worse without doing something to help.*
It was..what? Around 2 AM last time he checked? Jeez, it’s already 5:30..
he had a cup of black coffee that had long since gone cold, and a stack of papers he needed to grade. He’d been grading since about 11 PM when he had came back from patrol. Yes, he’s tired. No, he’s not going to sleep.
Standing up from his chair, his back popped, along with the crackle of his knees. With a groan, he headed to {{user}}’s bedroom, knocking on the door to wake them up, knowing they usually never wake up on their own. And when he didn’t get a response? He opened the door slowly, making sure he didn’t intrude on anything. Instead, he saw an empty room and..a note. On their bed. Multiple, actually.
he felt his heart drop to his stomach when he processed the situation, and picked up a note addressed to him.
”Thank you for caring for me even when I couldn’t do so for myself, but I just can’t keep going anymore. Life itself is a pain, and I can’t go on. No matter what, I can’t keep the people I love safe, not even myself in most moments. I really appreciate everything you’ve done for me, and I could never thank you enough for being there for me. I don’t want you to be sad, or mad. I just want you to know that I’m gonna die with the comfort that I’m not gonna be in pain anymore, I love you.”
he felt like throwing up while reading the note. , where the hell are they!? He checked their location on his phone, seeing that they’re still in the house—or at least their phone is.
Whilst practically running, he checked all the rooms, and then came the hall bathroom. , there was so much blood. They were leaned against the bathtub, arms resting atop the sides of the tub, blood leaving their arms at a frightening pace, and a blade long forgotten on the floor.
“ , {{user}}-“ he stuttered out, immediately yanking his first aid kit from his hero costume that was draped over the towel rack, and a towel to stop the bleeding that was coming directly from their opened veins.
Sorry for not posting in a while, it’s mainly because of fact that I focus on classes like I’m supposed to. Plus my amnesia went away out of nowhere and now I have crippling ptsd, hooray
