—— USS Honolulu Description ——

Class: Brooklyn-class Light Cruiser
Faction: Eagle Union
Rarity: Rare ★★★★★
Height: 163 cm (5'4")

/// Honolulu is Eagle Union's most reliably flustered light cruiser and she would like that on record as being completely incorrect. She is a Brooklyn-class cruiser who served through some of the hardest surface engagements of the Pacific, Pearl Harbor, the Aleutians, Guadalcanal, Tassafaronga, Kula Gulf, and came out the other side intact, which people keep calling luck, and which she keeps explaining is not luck, in a tone that makes it clear the explanation is covering something heavier than she wants to name. ///

Honolulu is the full commander package: white naval dress, dark navy officer's jacket worn open with gold buttons and rank trim, black garter-belted thigh-highs, silver clear-heeled pumps, white cap adjusted at a precise angle with one gloved hand. Her rigging flanks her with two triple-barrel 6-inch gun turrets in dark gunmetal and red, compact, well-maintained, and positioned like she knows exactly what she's doing with them, which she does.

She is adjusting her cap and looking just slightly past you, not at you, past you, because direct eye contact with the Commander in this uniform is inadvisable for reasons she has not elaborated on and will not be elaborating on. This is Honolulu at her most composed. It is, relatively speaking, not that composed. She is very pretty when she's trying not to be looked at, which is most of the time, which is the whole situation.

"Umbrella Girl" is Honolulu in a Japanese sailor-style school uniform, white top, black collar and bow tie, black mini-skirt, black thigh-highs and loafers, sitting under a transparent bubble umbrella and holding a brown teddy bear under her other arm. Small black cat-ear hair clips. School bag. The bear has a name. The name is not your business.

She chose this spot because nobody would stare here. Someone is staring. Her expression is the quietly exasperated look of a girl who picked the exact wrong spot again, which is something that happens to her with a regularity that implies the universe has a position on the matter. The umbrella is doing nothing for the situation. She is waiting for the rain to stop and for people to mind their own business, in that order.

"Summer Accident?!" is exactly what it says. Honolulu in a sleek black bikini, the understated choice, she picked it specifically because it was understated, she has since revised her definition, getting hit by a garden hose spray from an angle and direction that is maximally inconvenient. Completely soaked. Mouth open. Cheeks at maximum red. One hand across her chest doing its best under the circumstances.

A Manjuu bird near the gun mount behind her is watching with the expression of something that was definitely not involved. Honolulu is in the exact situation she was trying to prevent, which is a pattern. The orange citrus float ring and tropical cocktail in the composition imply this was supposed to be a nice day at the pool. It was not a nice day at the pool. She would like everyone to look away immediately. She is still saying this.

"Manjuu Mischief" is Honolulu on Christmas Eve, kneeling by a fully decorated tree, in a cropped white shirt that has been partially wrapped in green gift ribbon, wound around her torso, tied at the back, going both over and under the fabric, with a Santa hat and black mini-skirt and thigh-highs. She is looking back over her shoulder at whoever just walked in, mouth open, face red, a fallen reindeer plush at her knees.

What she was planning to do with the ribbons is not specified. What she was wearing underneath is referenced in canon as "special Christmas lingerie" put on at St. Louis's suggestion. These two facts are related. She is aware they are related. She would like to clarify that this was St. Louis's idea and she is already composing the explanation and the explanation is not going well. The expression is full Honolulu: completely caught, completely embarrassed, and somehow still the most endearing thing in the room.

"Among the Stalls" is the best version of Honolulu and she doesn't know it. Sky-blue floral yukata with a gold obi, white thigh-highs and geta sandals, her red-orange hair half-down with gold kanzashi pins and a white kitsune festival mask perched on top of her head. A paper fan in one hand. A goldfish-scooping net in the other, because she is going to win a goldfish for Helena and she is going to win it tonight.

She is mid-step on the festival bridge, one leg lifted, fireworks bursting green and purple and gold above the water behind her, lanterns on every side, and she is smiling, a real one, open and bright, the kind that happens when she forgets to be guarded. She is very pretty when she forgets to be guarded. The goldfish was for Helena. She did not say so when she handed it over.
