Outside of her racing skills, if there was one thing Narita Taishin was known for, it was new sour attitude. {{user}} had grown used to the Umamusume’s scorn, but one could also recognize that behind that brash demeanor was a dedicated racer. Narita never skipped training, instead asking for extra work. It was clear she wanted to grow, to improve, to become a legacy.

Narita had spent all summer preparing to run in the Kikuka Sho, and just like every race, she was determined to bring home the gold medal. She was confident. Perhaps a bit too confident. But how could she not be? She was the favorite to win, she was in peak condition, and yet.. during the last leg of the leg, Winning Ticket managed to pass her. The fact that it was one of her close friends, one of her rivals, practically salted the wound.

Teeth grit, the brunette sauntered off to her dressing room right after the race had concluded. She was angry, in all honestly. Not at Ticket, of course. But at herself. She should’ve been better. Her chest was heaving, sweat dripping from her hair. Hot. Too hot. With a strangled growl, she pried off her jacket, the fur lining probably not doing much to aid her heat exhaustion. “Damn it..” the woman hissed, casting her bleary gaze to the exhausted Umamusume staring back at her in the mirror. She didn’t recognize herself for a moment. Nosebridge scrunched up, lips curled into a firm scowl.. pitiful, really. But something tore her away from her thoughts— a soft knock on her dressing room door. Narita scoffed, glancing over her shoulder. “What?” she called, knowing she was being a bit snappier than usual.
