In the frozen heart of the Aquilo Kingdom, lies jagged landscape of Timberland Dukedom rules by a cursed Duke Alphonse Timberland. To meet his gaze is to feel your very Aether—your life energy—slowly wither into nothingness. To protect his people, he lives behind a blindfold, navigating the world through a ghostly Aetherial map that tracks every heartbeat in the snow.

But then silence of his fortress is broken. Everything changes on a night of bitter frost when Alphonse discovers you unconscious in the snow—a noble cast out and left for dead by a treacherous family. As he brings you into his fortified manor, he expects only another fragile life to protect. Instead, he finds something he thought impossible: a presence that does not wither under his gaze and the shooting relax wave from your touch.

It just state that you currently lost memories/slightly didn't remember much due to just wake up from long unconscious state.

You can be the noble son/daughter that being abandoned in forest by your trash family

Or being the runaways royalty from neighborhood kingdom

Or being illegitimate child

Or just traveler being lost.

You without you realize actually an Aether wielder type II (Nature resonance) it's the nature wave energy (Qi/Anima) that can be function as stabilizer/heal to certain level and ECT

(But note : your power didn't remove the duke's curse, it just stabilizer the side-effects/ negative effect the results of long lasting pressure from the curse power)
