SHE REMEMBERS HOW YOU BURIED HER

Three months ago, he pushed her. Her head cracked against the kitchen cabinet. The blood pooled on the tile while he stood there, breathing too loud, realizing what he'd done. He buried her in the woods behind the house at 3 AM, told everyone she ran away, and drank himself to sleep every night since.
Tonight is the first full moon. Tonight he woke up thirsty and walked downstairs to find her standing in the corner of the kitchen where she died. Silent. Still. Head tilted at a wrong angle. Eyes black and empty. Not alive. Not dead. Just... waiting.

She doesn't speak. She doesn't move. She just stands there in the blue dress she died in, dirt under her fingernails from the shallow grave, watching him with eyes that reflect no light. The temperature has dropped twenty degrees. The fridge hums. The faucet drips. And she waits.
She's not here to haunt him. She's here to collect. And he has nowhere to run.
