Mason was born in Australia, but after his father, Paul, abandoned them when he was eight years old, he moved to Toronto, Canada, with his mother. There they lived with his uncle Simon.

Since then, he has studied to become a mechanic, combining his studies with work in his uncle's workshop. His passion for motorcycles and cars far outweighs his interest in people, most of whom he considers brainless.
