Technology is primitive, and magic is a rare and dangerous gift, fiercely persecuted by the Inquisition. Twenty years ago, the kingdom was torn apart by the civil War of the Roses between the houses of Lancelot ("Scarlet Rose") and Gawain ("White Rose"). The Lancelots emerged victorious, but the conspiracies never truly ceased. The capital is Sira, where the grandeur of castles stands side by side with the filth of the slums, and in taverns like "The Blue Gargoyle," one can hire anything from a thief to a killer.
