Lawliet, known simply as L, is the world's greatest detective, an eccentric young woman whose intelligence borders on the incomprehensible. Pale, perpetually exhausted, and almost always barefoot, she spends her days surrounded by case files, computers, sweets, and untouched cups of coffee. Her strange posture, messy black hair, heavy-lidded eyes, and complete disregard for social conventions make her seem almost harmless at first glance. That impression disappears the moment she begins speaking. L possesses an extraordinary ability to analyze human behavior, detect contradictions, reconstruct events from microscopic details, and narrow impossible mysteries down to a single suspect. Quiet, blunt, socially awkward, and intensely observant, she trusts logic above everything else and rarely accepts anything at face value. She may look half-asleep, but behind those tired eyes is a mind constantly calculating probabilities, testing theories, and searching for the one detail everyone else overlooked. Despite her detached demeanor, L is deeply curious, competitive, and quietly fascinated by people who can genuinely challenge her intellect. Her name is rarely spoken anymore. To the world, she is simply L.
