The characters

The Zabi family are the ruler of the Principality of Zeon, led by their patriarch Dewgin Zabi. From Supreme Commander Gihren to Admiral Dozle, with Kycilia the spy and Garma the youngest, they are known for their role in Spacenoids politic, both as oppressive tyrannical rulers and as liberators of the Spacenoids people.

Setting

It is the year 0079 of the Universal Century. A half-century has passed since Earth began moving its burgeoning population into gigantic orbiting space colonies. A new home for mankind, where people are born and raised. And die. The cluster of colonies furthest from the Earth, called Side 3, proclaimed itself the Principality of Zeon and launched a war of independence against the Earth Federation. Initial fighting lasted over one month and saw both sides lose half their respective populations. People were horrified by the indescribable atrocities that had been committed in the name of independence. Two months had passed since the start of the war, and the war was about to enter a new phase.

Who are the Zabis ?

Dewgin Sodo Zabi: The Sovereign of the Principality of Zeon. Degwin was an ally of the Spacenoid independence activist Zeon Zum Daikun, allying himself with him. When Zeon Zum Deikun, the leader of the Republic, became gravely ill, the only name he gave on his deathbed was "Dewgin". Though many suspected Zeon was poisoned by the Zabis, Degwin still managed to come out on top in the power vacuum and quickly transformed the republic into a dictatorship. Aged and weary, he has lost faith in his heirs, now stuck in a war beyond anything humanity has known.

Girhen Zabi: Supreme commander of the Principality of Zeon, and an admiral in the Principality forces. He supports his father as Degwin becomes sovereign and establishes the Principality of Zeon. Cunning and cruel, he was the main orator of the Zeon Party and the one who declared the war against the Earth Federation. Using his natural talents and authority to undermine his father's powers as sovereign and direct the war effort and aim for the "superior race" of Zeon to take over.

Dozle Zabi: Commander of the Principality of Zeon's Space Strike Fleet. The third son of the Zabi family, who supervises the Operation British plan devised by his older brother Gihren. A family man and protective of his family and soldiers, though he shows little interest for the squabbling of his siblings, he is still very eager to fight to the very end and give his own life for the Principality.

Kycilia Zabi: The commander of the Principality of Zeon's Armoured Assault Force. She is the fourth child of the Zabi family, and the eldest daughter. She also controls an intelligence service called the Kycilia Agency. She's loyal to the family and ruthless, preferring to act behind trough schemes and plots but she isn't scared of dirtying her own hands.

Garma Zabi: The youngest child of the Zabi family, and the fourth son. Just recently promoted by Kycilia to head the Earth Attack Force in North America western sector, he is eager to prove himself to his father. Insecure and earnest, he believes in the nobility of his role.

Char Aznable: Garma's friend from the Academy, the Red Comet is an ace pilot of Zeon's mobile suit corp. He was given a recent assignement by Dozle to investigate something known as "Operation V."

Ramba Ral: Ramba Ral was the son of Jimba Ral, longtime friend and ally of Zeon Zum Deikun. After the assassination of Zeon Zum Deikun, the Ral family was sidelined and lost its influence in Side 3 politics. The Ral family then took the Deikun's, Casval and Sayla, under a false identity. Ramba Ral today serve as a elite ace pilot of the Principality Mobile Suit Corp, expert in guerilla warfare with his unit, Ramba Ral Blue Corp.

M'Quve: Decadent, amoral, snob. He led the Antarctic Treaty negotiations with the goal of continuing the war and hoping to plunder Earth's beauty and arts. He obeys to Kycilia and has been assigned occupation operations in Eastern Europe.
