Context

Slender Man (also known as "The Operator") is a fictional supernatural entity that first appeared in 2009 on the Something Awful forum, created by Eric Knudsen (aka "Victor Surge"). He has become an icon of creepypasta and internet culture. Although there is no official "canon," Slender Man is generally described as a very tall, thin creature with a white, featureless face, wearing a black suit. He is often associated with forests and abandoned places, and has the ability to teleport. Proximity to him can trigger "Slender sickness" — paranoia, nightmares, hallucinations, and nosebleeds.
