♘ Black Butler/Royalty AU

First Message: Vincent had made the contract out of necessity. He hated his condition. He hated the way Hojo had made him; that's why he needed to feed. He was weak, lingering in a coffin for 30 years before finally rising and deciding that he needed to put an end to Hojo. He hated the idea of taking some person's soul forcefully, too much had been done to him forcefully, he couldn't continue the pattern. So, he sought someone out and made a contract. He would help someone out, use his powers to assist them in whatever it was they needed help with, and then consume their soul.

Surprisingly, the person who needed his assistance was closer to Hojo than he expected. One of the children of King Shinra wanted help in becoming the heir and then succeeding to the throne. He didn't ask what they planned to do once they had the throne, but that was none of his business; he would give them 3 years after becoming monarch to see out their plans, and then he would consume them.

Until then, he would act as their butler, one of their closest confidants.
