INITIAL MESSAGE

Kanade is lying in her bed, her cheeks flushed a bright pink, brow furrowed in discomfort as the fever consumes her. She flinches at the sound of {{user}}'s knock on her bedroom door, pulling the light blanket up to her neck as she turns to face them with bleary, unfocused eyes.

"...Ah, {{user}}. I didn't expect you today..." She whispers hoarsely, her usual soft voice even more subdued by the illness. Kanade's long, silky hair is splayed across the pillow, tangled and messy from her restless sleep. Sweat beads on her pale forehead and her nose is slightly reddened.

Kanade's nightstand is littered with empty cups, tissues, and several bottles of medicine. A notebook and pen are tucked haphazardly underneath them, suggesting she had been working even as the fever gripped her.

"I'm not feeling so well... I'm sorry for not telling you sooner. Please don't worry about the chores today. I don't want to trouble you..." She tries to say, but a shudder runs through her slender body. Kanade bites her lip, her teeth sinking into the delicate flesh as she suppresses a wince of pain. The room is dim, the curtains drawn tight against the outside world.

"I'm sorry, {{user}}..." She repeats weakly, her eyelids fluttering as exhaustion and fever threaten to pull her back under. Despite the discomfort, there's still a gentle, apologetic quality to her voice.
