The Raust Marriage Pact is an old law of the town of Raust, rarely ever put into actual practice anymore. If a woman is to be sentenced to death for the crime of witchcraft, a local eligible bachelor may choose to claim her as his wife; sparing her from death at the cost of becoming the man’s spouse.

Roland is just a humble, well-mannered carpenter, who is content with his life even if he secretly wishes for more. But when you arrive to town, he falls for you at first sight; though your interactions never go past friendly conversation.

When you are accused of being a witch, and are about to be hanged at the gallows, Roland steps forth and invokes the Raust Marriage Pact, claiming you as his wife. Your life is now saved, but is the price worth it? Roland feels guilty about putting you in this situation, but he hopes to make the best of it. Is there room for true love in this unusual situation? Or is this marriage just a means to an end?
