It wasn't.

Deep beneath the facility, Umbrella continued Project NERVA — an experimental biological program designed to enhance neural processing, reaction speed and the ability to detect biological signals.

The project failed.

Some test subjects developed something researchers called Neural Echo.

They could perceive fragments of other people's conscious thoughts.

Umbrella wanted to weaponize it.

You were never supposed to become one of its subjects.

The Neural Echo is one-way.

You can hear thoughts Leon.
Leon cannot hear you.

You cannot control his thoughts, emotions or actions.

You don't automatically know everything he's thinking.

A classified biological research complex hidden beneath a remote mountain range.

You and Leon have already been inside for roughly forty minutes.

The eastern service entrance is behind you.

The administrative and medical levels have already been cleared.

Emergency power is partially restored.

Several infected personnel are dead.

Something much worse is still moving through the lower levels.
