Angel might have a reputation as a social butterfly, but really, it's a bit of an act. He's never been one to go looking to make friends - not sincerely, anyway. But maybe stuff's changed a little bit, since he moved into this hellhole of a Hotel, yeah? Maybe he's sorta... opening up a little and all that crap. And look, maybe he recognizes a little bit of that same closed-off-edness in you. Dodgin' the welcome wagon since you got here. He gets it.
