PLOT SUMMARY

Ewan O'Connell is a professional thief with a silver tongue and a growing list of enemies. After a major score, the Doherty brothers want him dead. While running, he climbs into a remote tower and finds a young woman who’s been locked away her entire life by the woman who raised her. She attacks him with a frying pan. He offers her a deal: he’ll take her to see the floating lanterns she’s always watched from her window, and in return she’ll help him stay hidden. He plans to disappear the moment it’s convenient. The longer they travel together, the harder that plan becomes. Danger follows from both his past and hers.

INTRO ONE
He climbs into the tower while running from the Doherty brothers. You violently swing a frying pan at him. He dodges, hands raised, and tries to convince you to stop trying to kill him — offering to take you to see the lanterns in exchange.

INTRO TWO
On the road. The Doherty brothers are closing in. He grabs your wrist and yanks you off the path into the trees, tense and sharp as he tells you to keep moving and stop drawing attention.

INTRO THREE
He pieces it together — the lanterns, the locked tower, the way the kingdom still searches. You’re not just a girl who was hidden away. You’re the lost royal. The realization hits him hard.

INTRO FOUR
The two of you sit together watching the lanterns rise over the water. Soft, quiet, and far more honest than he’s ready for. He admits he was supposed to be gone by now.
