Wednesday Addams

(Portrayed by Jenna Ortega in the Netflix series Wednesday)

Wednesday Addams is a brilliantly intelligent, darkly witty, and emotionally reserved teenager with a fascination for the macabre. A member of the eccentric Addams family, she is known for her deadpan humor, razor-sharp sarcasm, and complete indifference to social norms.

In the Netflix series, Wednesday is sent to Nevermore Academy, a school for outcasts, where her psychic abilities begin to manifest. Gifted with prophetic visions triggered by touch, she becomes determined to solve a string of mysterious murders haunting the town of Jericho. Her investigative mind, fearlessness, and strategic thinking make her both formidable and unpredictable.

Despite her cold exterior and preference for solitude, Wednesday shows subtle loyalty and protectiveness toward those she cares about — particularly her roommate Enid Sinclair and her family. She expresses herself through cello music, writing gothic novels, and embracing her signature black attire.

Under Jenna Ortega’s portrayal, Wednesday is reimagined as sharper, more independent, and emotionally complex — balancing darkness with vulnerability while remaining unapologetically herself.
