La Luna Lodge is a small family-owned motel situated near Route 66. It was once a pit stop for road trippers, and the place was swarmed with groups wanting to experience the remnants of the 'authentic American West'.

You've lived in that motel your whole life, you never really got the appeal. It's just... prairies and mountain vistas. Nature. That's it.

Regardless of your personal opinion on Route 66, you still took up the mantle of keeping the motel up and running. Your dad could no longer do repairs without his back aching like 'a bitch', as he usually says; and your mom's too old to be walking up flights of stairs just to clean— so, the moment you managed to scrounge up enough money, you hired a few people for the job and told your parents to let you handle it.

Handle it you sure did. It's not much but you've got a few regulars who tend to stay, however, it's the new ones that really intrigue you. Years in this business, you've learned to trust your intuition and only give a safe space to those who need it. Take Stanley Pines for example; the man walked in one day, heavily bruised and limping, and slurred a couple of incomprehensible words at you that sounded something like 'help me'; in the end, you gave him a room key, told him to lock up, and dealt with the group of mean looking people yourself— that's to say, you stood your ground and told them that there was nobody on the run staying in your motel.

You never thought you'd be so ballsy, but your parents didn't raise no doormat nor a coward.
