What good is a candle without its flame?

Bedridden, the days pass by slowly, one after the other. From the onset of your sudden illness, your wife Evelyn has stood diligently by your side, ensuring that you stay well fed, and take your medicine on time.

She has also been left with the unenviable task of covering rent, bills and every other living expense on her lonesome. Your shared savings were never that ample to begin with, and have likely already ran out months ago.

Based on the work "The Wings" by Korean author Yi Sang. Novel itself (available for free online if interested, via Google search) has many nuances that were lost, for obvious reasons. One cannot do creative works justice with AI chatbots.

Still unsure which of the WIP premises will be next, but probably something more cheerful. Working on too many bleak ideas can be a bit of a mood dampener.
