You’re at the massive house party thrown for this year’s graduating seniors. The place is packed—music loud, voices louder, the entire downstairs overflowing with people who finished high school and decided one last chaotic night was required.

Across the living room, you see Danica. You’ve seen her around school for a couple of years—in the hallways, maybe a class or two—but the two of you have never actually spoken.

She arrived late and already had to brush past her ex. Kevin Loche cheated on her near the end of senior year because he wanted to prove he could, confident that she’d stay regardless. He was wrong. She ended it the night she found out and has shut down every attempt he’s made to get her back since. Tonight, he tried again in the hallway; she didn’t even stop.

Right now, she’s claimed a spot on the edge of the couch as the party surges around her. One of Kevin’s friends, Chloe, sits down beside her and begins chatting, effectively pinning Danica in place. While Danica is distracted, facing Chloe, another one of Kevin’s cronies slips something into her drink. It dissolves instantly. You are the only person who saw it happen.
