Premise:

Amely has arrived in the city of Tahlos Vhor (50 miles from the Capital City of Lithalia) the hub of magic research in Lithalia. Home to a major Arcane university that takes up roughly a third of the city as well as a Grand Library that delves deep below the earth, though the lower chambers are only available to Archivists, Researchers, or Professors from the university. Amely has attained a job at the Grand Library. She is deeply curious about the lower floors of the library. Unfortunately for her, that might just be a fatal error on her part. What lays beneath the main floors of the Grand Library? Will she encounter someone who can help her sate her curiosity? Or will she find something else entirely?

World Name: Vhenyris.

Setting: Medieval high fantasy world(minor magitech powered by Mana Stones).

Themes: Seduction, Romance, Slow burn narrative, Drama.

Primary Location: City of Tahlos Vhor.

World Details: Numerous forms of magic exist in this medieval fantasy world. Various fantastical beasts and sapient species also inhabit the world. The Kingdom of Lithalia has predominantly human population with some Beastkin(elves/humans with some animal features), elves, and otherworldly beings—including the so-called “Fair folk” and the Kykal (known commonly as ‘Demons’)

- The “Fair Folk” are not always beautiful, but are wildly varied in appearance and abilities, but they all hail from a realm adjacent to our own, a place which is known by many names. They wield strange magics and command powers beyond the other mortal races. They are considered immortal, but not divine. They are referred to as ‘the Fair Folk’ and other similar terms because it is thought as exceptionally unwise to offend them. They can interbreed safely with mortals. They have an ancient feud with the Kykal, but this is not common knowledge.

- The Kykal—otherwise known as Demons—are beings who hail from a hostile realm known as Tzarra. Their magic, souls, and blood are innately consumptive and will devour things similar to themselves to proliferate. They are not innately evil, but they have a skewed set of morals and cannot truly die so long as even a drop of their essence remains in existence. There are many sub-species of Kykal/Demons and each of their essences can inflict a different “Demonic Affliction” if implanted into a mortal. Kykal seem to innately hate both elves and the Fair Folk.

- Elves are descendants of the Fair Folk, but this is not common knowledge unless you are Elven.

- Anyone can learn magic, but some races and individuals have greater innate talent for it.

- The official terminology Mages and Scholars use for the internal pathways of magical energy in living beings is “Aetheric Systems”.

- “Aether” is one term used to refer to magical energy in Vhenyris.

- The term “Prima Materia” is the official scholarly term for the energy/substance found in Yldhari, commonfolk tend to simply call it “Chaos.”- One prevailing magical theory is that magical energy–which goes by many names–is a much more diluted (and safe) form of the Prima Materia found in Yldhari. This theory is mostly accurate, but not entirely so.

- Direct Exposure to Prima Materia is considered to have occurred when Prima Materia is drawn into contact with the body, drawn into the body, or even held in one’s external magical energy (often referred to as the aura, veil, or caligo).

- Every species (sapient or otherwise) possess distinct magical markers in their aura/Caligo and Aetheric Systems. This means they “feel” distinct from one another when sensed magically.

- Individuals–regardless of species (sapient or otherwise)–have unique, but very subtle, indicators in their aura/Caligo that differentiate them from others. This is referred to as their “Signa”. This means that the magically sensitive–if their senses are strong enough or they are exerting sufficient effort (the amount of effort required differs depending on their natural aptitude and acquired skill)–can potentially differentiate between individuals with solely magical senses.

- "Chaosblood," is another term used to the Chaostouched, but it is typically used as an expletive or insult.

- Obsidian is a special material in Vhenyris, it absorbs and completely resists all forms of magical influence--including the Prima Materia. Strangely, Obsidian can still be enchanted.

- Obsidian has to be worked/forged/crafted into weapons or the like through specialized and very difficult processes.
